SMS AND VOICE MESSAGE ADDENDUM TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
SecureTech Systems, Inc. (“SecureTech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) owns and operates its SMS / Voice messaging program for systems supplied by SecureTech (the “Program”) and controls the telephone number or numbers used to send such SMS and/or Voice messages (“Messages”). Resellers, integrators, and customer organizations (“users”) may provide SecureTech enrollment materials for the Program or assist individuals with enrollment in the Program, but SecureTech is the sender of the messages and manages the Program, enrollment records, support requests, and opt-out requests.
Enrollment and Consent
SecureTech will send SMS Messages only after the recipient has provided consent through a signed paper or electronic form, an online form, a text-message enrollment process, or another documented method. The person enrolling must be the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number or otherwise authorized to provide consent for that number.
Users may not consent on an individual’s behalf. SecureTech does not purchase or rent mobile-number lists for enrollment in the Program.
Consent applies only to the Program when consent is obtained. Consent to receive Messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services and may be withdrawn at any time. Users are responsible for maintaining consent documentation for all individuals receiving Messages from the Program.
Types and Frequency of Messages
Individuals enrolled in the Program may receive recurring operational Messages concerning duress-alarm activations, scheduled system tests, system status, service conditions, and related administrative notices for the applicable organization, facility, or site.
Only messages pertaining to the operation of SecureTech equipment may be sent through the Program.
Message frequency varies according to alarm activity, testing, and system events. Message and data rates may apply.
Enrollment in the Program does not authorize SecureTech to send marketing or promotional text messages. SecureTech will obtain any additional consent required by law before sending marketing or promotional messages.
Information We Collect
In connection with the Program, SecureTech and the Users may collect and maintain:
• The recipient’s name and mobile telephone number;
• The recipient’s organization, facility, site, job title, or department;
• The method, date, time, and source of enrollment;
• Copies or records of the recipient’s consent;
• Opt-in, opt-out, and do-not-disturb status;
• Message content, delivery status, and related technical records; and
• Requests for assistance and other communications concerning the messaging program.
SecureTech collects this information directly from the Users or recipient(s) or through enrollment materials presented to the recipient(s) on SecureTech’s behalf.
How We Use Mobile Information
SecureTech uses mobile information to:
• Verify and document consent;
• Send authorized duress alerts, system notifications, tests, and related administrative messages from the relevant SecureTech equipment;
• Maintain enrollment, opt-out, and do-not-disturb records;
• Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Program;
• Prevent unauthorized use or abuse; and
• Comply with legal, regulatory, carrier, and recordkeeping requirements.
How to Opt Out
Recipients may opt out of the Program at any time by replying STOP to the telephone number from which the message was received. The command is not case-sensitive; stop and STOP are treated the same.
Recipients may also opt out of the Program at any time by pressing “9” during a call placed by SecureTech Equipment, or by calling a number associated with SecureTech Equipment and pressing “9”.
After SecureTech processes the request, the mobile number will be placed on SecureTech’s do-not-disturb list. The recipient may receive one final text message confirming the opt-
out. SecureTech will then send no additional Messages to that mobile number unless the recipient provides consent and enrolls again.
Opting out of the Program does not prevent SecureTech from communicating through another method, such as telephone or email, when separately authorized or otherwise permitted by law.
Help and Support
Recipients may reach out for additional support, which is available by calling 877-468-6524 or emailing support@securetechwave.com.
Mobile Information Sharing
SecureTech will not sell, rent, share, or otherwise transfer mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Originator opt-in data and consent records will not be shared with any third parties except service providers used solely to operate, support, and deliver the Program, such as messaging-platform providers and wireless carriers. These service providers may use the information only to perform services for SecureTech and may not use it for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
SecureTech will not transfer SMS consent to another organization for that organization’s independent use. Consent provided to SecureTech applies only to messages sent as part of the SecureTech messaging program described at enrollment.
Retention of Records
SecureTech will retain the Program enrollment and Messaging records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Program, document consent, respond to requests, protect the service, and comply with applicable legal, regulatory, carrier, and contractual obligations.
When a recipient opts out, SecureTech may retain the minimum information necessary to maintain the mobile number on its do-not-disturb or suppression list and honor the opt-out request.
Access Correction and Deletion Requests
Recipients may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with the Program by contacting support@securetechwave.com.
SecureTech may retain limited information when necessary to honor an opt-out request, maintain required consent records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect legal rights, or comply with applicable law.
The SecureTech Program is also subject to the SecureTech Terms of Use available at https://www.securetechwave.com/terms-of-use/.
